I haven't changed anything but I went to use my garden hose and no matter which way I turn the spigot will not put out water. Doesn't even sound like water is running when I turn it. Front or back spigot. Can anyone help?

Close the main water S/O valve, remove the stem removal nut, and check the stem and the washer, Thanks.

When you go to remove the stem and washer assembly you unscrew the nut closest to the valve body, (Removal nut) and then back the assembly out counter clockwise. Good luck, Tom

front or back spigot.

If that means that hose bibs in both the front and back of the house are not working, then someone has closed a stop valve somewhere.

YUP! I think Harold hit on something here... ;)

Fredjenn33... do you have a outdoor sprinkler system? If so, it is possible that your outside faucets are also on the sprinkler system and since it got shut off it also shut off the outside faucets.

If you have the sprinkler system and it was shut down it was also probably winterized for the season so you cannot just turn it back on for a few minutes or anything like that... o.k.

Otherwise, sounds like someone shut off the water supply or meter going to your outside faucets...

Let us know what you think here...

Good catch Harold!

Fred
You usually have stop valves in side to turn off the water to hose bibs. That is so you can turn the water off and drain the lines so the hose bibs don't freeze and burst in the winter. If hose bibs in both the front and back both stop working at the same time, the problem is not at the hose bib. Follow the piping from one of the hose bibs back to where it connects to the main supply. Some where these two lines connect together. Some where before that connection point there should be a stop valve. If you or someone else, has not closed that valve, then you have a blockage in that valve. Probably a piece of solder. I have seen solder in a pipe lay there for years and then move and block the first valve it encounters.

Hello

The front spigot will not turn on at all, completely seized, back one is fine, water line was off for winter then turned on, totally froze, cannot turn left to turn on... bolt inside bibb handle rusted taken out, so far, should we soak the head handle and all in some solution of clr? We are year post tornado this front spigot did not get used last year.
Any ideas why it will not budge at all?

Thanks Sue
