I am sure that a lot of people will want to know which soaps are the best!! So feel free to let everyone know which soaps you have tried and whether they gave you good or bad results or just didn't work at all

Papaya soap is really good. Likas papaya soap or diana stalder papaya kojic soap. They will exfoliate your skin very well and sting for the first few days, but this will fade with continued use.

Never tried Diana, I might have seen a price and thought it was too $ for a bar of soap, I'm cheap. Where u got yours?

I got mine from a couple of Ebay sellers around $7 plus s&h last year. I would stretch it to last about 3 months since it was easy to cut but yes it is too pricey for soap. Next time I am planning to try the Likas papaya off Amazon since I heard so many good things about it and it cost less.

The reason why I was thinking of having an exfoliating soap and a lightening soap is because my skin is the type that can't handle getting exfoliated everyday.I already used the Fair & White AHA soap and I used to use that everyday until it exfoliated me to the core.I had to let my skin cells regenerate after that because my skin felt and looked raw. So I was thinking that I want a good soap that just lightens that I can use everday and just use the exfoliating soap a couple times per week. Now I heard different people mention the Diana Stalder papaya kojic acid soap but the only problem with that is I am currently looking for a soap that only lightens but I might try using that DS soap as my new exfoliating soap. But anyway I have been searching for a soap that is made only of pure kojic acid.I haven't found anything like that but I have seen soaps like that on eBay but I am kind of hesitant about trying any of those soaps sold by people on eBay because I heard that they can either be fake or very dangerous.So... any thoughts?

I know that having a soap just for exfoliating and a soap just for lightening may seem ridiculous to some but some people like me for instance can't really exfoliate a lot.My mom said that I have thin skin like my father.I hope that is not true but I do have a weird complexion like his,I get these dam freckles like him but I only have like 2 but I am worried because everyone on his side of the family gets more freckles as they get older which appear almost anywhere! And I don't know if it is just me but it seems as if I get a new freckle in a new place every 1- 3 years. LOL

I actually adore the Fair and White AHA exfoliating soap. It exfoliates extremely well but its too damn expensive at $10 a bar. IT left a lot of dead skin cells on the bottom of my tub though

I love that soap too but are u suppose to you it everyday?Cuz when I did that I thought that I was just getting lighter but when I went to Macy's to try and get help with concealing the left over effects bio Claire left me... well anyway the makeup lady said that my skin was stripped raw She asked me what did I use that did this?. Of course I played dumb but that was embarrassing

Yeh I used it everyday on my main body and I used it like every few days on my face, but the face is more sensitive than the body. I never had my body exfoliated to the point of rawness, but I too was using Bio Claire at the same I was using the AHA soap and I can tell you that the Bio Claire was probably the culprit for making your skin raw in combination with the Fair and White soap; Bio Claire thinned the skin on my neck to the point where each time I scrubbed my neck my neck would hurt and get random bruises, and the soap probably made it worse because you were exfoliating thin skin. Hope that makes sense Red.

The Kojic Acid soap I purchased from an eBay seller filipinagoddess is very good for exfoliation.

That soap was strong! Had to back off because it made my face sore and I used it in the shower and I am never going to use it on my private parts again.:o OUCH! It made my va jay jay hurt. Lol

It would make a great soap for exfoliating the skin on the body for sure.

I agree, I think it was the bio claire that had thinned your skin only made it more difficult when it came time to exfoliate since the skin is now thinned, and instead cause damage. Soaps that are mostly papaya or kojic will also exfoliate and sting for a while, but also lighten a bit too. DS does also have milder soaps, I tried the glutathione soap and it didn't do much for me as for lightening and I had used it for about 2 months 2x a day. I prefer papaya/kojic.

lmao.. the va jay jay and kojic don't mix, I learned that the first try and never again!

Lol thanks everyone... is it just me or did it seem as if the Bio Claire oil made things even worst?I had headaches constantly and felt nausea whenever I would add the cream and oil to my face! I wish I knew how dangerous Bio Claire was because if I did before hand I would have never had tried it.What made me try it was all of the great stuff I saw people say about it on here. That's why now since I became part of this forum I remind myself to not start really talking about something good until I have used the product for at least a month or two. I finished everything I ordered my skin broke out really bad!It was so bad I didn't even want to go outside and in the end it made me still look lighter then when I started but my skin is now even more blotchy and it kind of looks rough and aged and I am only 18! So I been using this body scrub that I got from Bath&Body and now at least my skin doesn't look aged but it still looks dull and now its very uneven.

Have you tried a peel or maybe a lemon toner for the dullness? Also tretinoin helps get new skin to the surface, and taking Vitamin C and Fish Oil will help get your glow back. You just have to be REALLY CONSISTENT with the vitamins so you can see the effects and don't get lazy, because God knows I get lazy with my vitamins

I agree with Newday, adding those to your regemin and staying consistent would bring your youthful glow back again. That's sad that BC was giving you those kind of side effects Red. Who knows if I had headache and nausea but didn't realize it could have been coming from BC all along?

Thanks everyone I will try the fish oil vitamins(even though I am a vegetarian) and I will get some tretinoin... but I have eczema and very sensitive skin so what percentage of tretinoin should I ourchass? It won't peel me too bad because I just got a full time job in order to help my mom out and when I go to work I don't want my new co workers looking at me weird... I mean I can deal with them looking at me weird once I get lighter and achieve my dream complexion but I can't handle walking around them with peeling skin all over

Itss A New Day
Oct 10, 2009, 01:04 AM
RedBone since you have sensitive skin its probably better to start with the smallest dose of tretinoin, which is 0.025%. If that agree with you or you see minimal results then you can move on to the 0.05%. Then the 0.1% is the strongest. Now you say you have eczema? My sister has eczema on and off, and you know what? Her dermi prescribed her a steroid cream that not only controlled the eczema but lightened her skin. Her doctor said she used so much that it thinned her skin and the eczema ultimately came back, but she didn't know why. Her skin was so fair and beautiful, but you could never tell her skin had thinned; it looked healthy nonetheless. Ultimately what I am saying is steroid creams will work to control your eczema, and will lighten your skin, but you cannot use steroid creams for too long because of there are other dangers, and steroids get absorbed in your bloodstream after a while, but it works for eczema and lightening is my point.

Alsoo on the internet they said Bio Claire can cause Cushings Disease... When applying it to your face you allow heavy amounts of the steroids to saturate through your skin and enter your bloodstream even faster!! And here I was.. the fool who basically dumped the oil cream lotion mixed together all over my body like 3 times per day because I was not working then but anyway thank goodness I ran out... and when I looked at some of the side effects for Cushings... I had some of them Nausea,Fever,Headaches but nothing else really... good news is that its not a permanent disease... which means that once you stop using the product that caused it... the high amount of steroids should eventually leave your system and no longer be present in your blood... now I don't feel any more side effects but someone needs to make a thread warning about certain products for those who don't think to research a product or for those who know the bad stuff about a product and are still stubborn enough to use it

Oct 10, 2009, 01:13 AM
Wow I had no idea. I guess they must have literally DUMPED the steroids in there. I was getting the itch to go back to this again because my bad experience was minor compared to others, and the results were fast, but I guess I will take heed to this and just say "no."

Great... glad to help... all of the nasty bumps went down and then left dark marks all over... so even though you could see that I was lighter.. all the marks was hiding the results... so I went and purchase some kind of derma36 oxygen peel kit... I was so desperate... but good news is that the kit worked even though it cost me 19 dollars but I still have a few spare marks on my chest near my u know which means that I can wear any v necks or low cut shirts but its just a couple marks on there and my shoulders and upper back... one I peel and lighten they should leave just like any other dark skin pigmentation

Yes fortunately new fresh marks can come and go if you use the right products. I had a random breakout of bumps on my upper arm, (maybe from the bio claire in retrospect), but anyway they left black marks, and I applied hq religiously, I swear I was determined to get rid of them, and it took maybe two months or so but just like that they vanished, so just keep applying lightening products I guess

I posted something similar a while back: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/skin-lightening/list-products-w-mercury-steroids-386591.html

Not as detailed, but focuses on some products to avoid and why. Others have also psted threads on why to avoid Bio Claire with links of evidence.

Oh how nice of you to help your mom out! :) You're a good daughter.
Perhaps you can try some Latic Acid or Glycolic Acid those are exfoliates with no visible peeling it really smooths the skin and you can use it more often at the low percentage.

I don't how someone can be a vegetarian, I cleaned out my refrigerator and bought nothing but fruit and veggies because I was just trying to eat better not to become a vegetarian and it just seemed like I was hungry all the time! Like the fruits and veggies did not fill me up. My stomach wanted something heavier. I tried so hard but I just gave in!

Ding Dong! PaPa Johns delivery
Ding Dong! Dominos Pizza! LOL!
I got chicken wings.:D

I have read many good things about this type of f&w, it should lighten you very well. I am also considering it, but I'll try the 55H+ first.

Maharani, you sound like me! Well, I able to stop eating red meat for 6 years. I lasted as a vegetarian for 2 whole months! Now once in awhile I'l eat red meat like lamb, but mainly pultry and seafood. When eating without meat I always feel hungry and like something is missing. I would have called papajohns too and it hits the spot!

Redbone, I buy natural shea butter for my cousin who has ezcema on many areas of her body, it has helped to clear it up quite well. Also, there are foods that she has to avoid that'll cause an ezcema outbreak, I can't remember them off the top of my head. Authentic black soap also helps with this too.

I'm not Maharani:( I'm Nikki:)

Yes! I craved chicken.
When I go to the grocery store I don't even buy raw meat.

I always get my meat from precooked Tyson chicken wings or Hotpockets, every now and again purchase some bologna or hotdogs. McDonalds for beef from their cheeseburgers, but me go the store and by some beef or chicken bring home to season and cook? NOPE!

Just can't cook like my mom can, I'll eat her cooking when she cooks with meat.

No, you mixed me up with someone else before, I forgot who though. Lol

My cooking sucks, just doesn't taste like mom's. I can follow a recipe but I'm not one of those people who can just whip someone up.

When my stepdad was alive we used to go to this church where they did not eat pork, so for a whole year we did not eat it my sister, stepdad and I. My mom still ate it. I don't know what happened in that year but when I went back to eating it, I had sub from Subway and I got a cold a week later.
I NEVER had a cold in the summer!

It just seemed like when I ate pork I would get a cold in a week. I remember having a hotdog that was both beef and pork and I still got a cold.
So I stopped eating it for a while, but I got away with it on pizza cause I know that pepperoni on pizza is not all beef, I'm sure the bacon I've purchased in the past had some pork in it and I did not get a cold. I still like it but I just don't go out of my way to eat it.

I love lamb! My mom's friend cooked me some curry lamb with rice and it WAS GOOD!! I had him cook it for me two more times.:D

Lol... I'll have to pay more attention then.
Curry lamb w/ basmati rice is very good, lamb w/ berbere spice and injera is really good too.
