My daughter is 2 1/2 and her biological father has only seen her a couple of times. He is constantly in and out of jail. Definitely a dead beat. She knows my husband as her father. I have been to court 4 times for child support and he has only shown up once. And that was because he was incarcerated. I asked him if he would sign his rights over and he told me NO. He does not care about our daughter he only wants to have me back. He is undependable and irresponsible. I had to get a peace order on him, and change my phone #. Please help what should I do?

I would think you stand a good chance with the father's criminal record, record of not paying support and your husband waiting and willing to adopt.

But you really need an attorney to make sure all the paperwork is doing properly.
