I have a 1967 Jonh Deere Model 110H patio tractor that does not charge the battery. The battery is good and the tractor starts well after the battery has been charged externally. The red "GEN" light stays on even when the engine is running, getting brighter as the revs are increased. I have only had the tractor a short while and the problem came with it. The tractor has had quite a bit of restoration but I have no history of the repairs/restoration that was done.

Hi,
There are some serial number breaks involved oh that model with different charging and ignition systems. The tag ought to be on the vertical part of the dash/console beneath the steering wheel and facing rearward toward the seat.
Peace,
Clarke
