Honeywell Chronotherm IV Plus T8601D2019 -When I turn fan setting to ON position, I hear the thermostat click and the fan symbol comes on. However, the fan does not come on. Power is on. A/C technician indicates that I need a new thermostat. In the Auto mode the A/C compressor and fan runs.

24 volt power should be on the G=Green wire/terminal in the indoor unit if the thermostat is turned to fan ON instead of automatic or AUTO fan. If 24 volt power is not available at the green wire/terminal then the thermostat is not providing power for the fan On condition and the thermostat is probably defective.
