Hi , I am in the process of remodeling my lower lever Bathroom .It is as old as my House 25 Years Old. My Question is can I Move the Toilet over say 4 to 6 inches in either direction to make room for a larger shower and smaller Pedestal Sink. The Toilet is in the center of the small bathroom and I would like to be able to move it but I don't know if this is Pedestal I can do .I am wondering if there is some type of adapter or connecter that is made that allows you to move a toilet a small amount without having to do any major Plumbing work .I am trying to get this job done myself as money is a little tight rite now . Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful and appreciated .

They make a 4" offset flange, (see image) but I don't recommed them. However, you asked for the least expensive with the least amount of work and that would be it. Regards Tom

That all depends.

I have moved a toilet before (to the left about 3 feet)

If you have PVC or plastic pipe, its really not to difficult. If you have cast iron, you are in for a treat. (a big pain/sarcasim)

The first time I did this, I was all of 19 years old and green as I could be on plumbing. It took all day, and I had to cut a cast iron pipe to make it work, using a quick connect rubber coupling, etc.

It's a memory I don't not look fondly on, and nasty too! But if the will is there, go for it! Take the time to plan this out carefully, especially if this is your only bathroom. You might consider going to a *real* hardware store (like a mom and pop) normally they have employees that were once in the trade and get help you out big time to get you set up. That's what I did.

EDIT: Sorry Tom, I submitted about a second after you did. Just giving him a fellow DIY'ers perspective.

Since your only going a couple of inches, I can't see a real big problem. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, God knows I know what its like to paint yourself in a corner as far as plumbing is concerned.
