I want to buy some oak firewood right now off a local dealer even though it's considered green, non seasoned and I may have to wait a year or so to burn it. I'm going to pile it in a stack at the end of my garden for a "snow fence" of sorts around some baby shrubs and trees I just got for a windbreak. Does a cord of green wood still measure a cord when it's seasoned or will there be shrinkage? Should I try to bargain for a lower price for this reason or not?

Shrinkage is so small that they would laugh at any attempt to get a deal due to volume. However, if it is not dry and you wait a year, that is worth bargaining.
