Hi There
I plan on installing a boiler etc. to heat the main floor with stapled up underfloor radiant heat and the basement with baseboard type heating.
The main floor would have 5 zones.
The basement would have 3 baseboard zones.
My thoughts for the main floor is to have the kitchen, living room and bathroom operate at the same temperature and the 2 bedrooms being turned down more than the other rooms at night.
The basement would have 3 individual heating zones.
This sounds like a 8 way manifold?
Just what parts do I need to make it work like I want?
I understand that I need a separate thermostat for each individual heating zone.
Does each thermostat connect to a actuator on the manifold?
Thanks for any info that you can help with.

Before you do anything you need to calculate the heat loss of every room along with the entire structure. Then you can plan based on the facts and not guesswork.

All the zone plans and room combos need facts to properly calculate the requirements.

When you combine baseboard style heat with staple up radiant you will probably want to run to different water temperatures so that will also complicate the situation so the best advice I can give is to get all the facts about your proposed system upfront then do the system layout to fit the logical desires.

The below pic design is way more complex that what you are thinking about but it will let you see the value of thinking ahead of the design first then talk about all the parts and pieces. As the design changes so do the material requirements etc.
