My divorce is about 6-8 weeks from being final. When my attorney's office called to schedule my deposition, I called my soon-to-be ex-husband and asked if this is what he really wanted (he asked for the divorce, but I filled). A couple of days later, I received an email from his girlfriend who is also "the other woman" that he left me for. She stated, "...please do not call either home or cell phones and do not email...I will save this email as my first and only warning anything beyond this will be court documented..."

There are currently unresolved financial issues and thus, I feel I have every right to contact him. Please keep in mind that this email was from her, not him and I wasn't directing my conversation towards her. The home I called is not in her name nor does she contribute at all financially (not sure if this has any bearing).

I have since sent him an invoice for payment, but I attached a 2-3 sentence note. Could she claim that this is harassment even though I'm not contacting her?

I don't see how she has any legal standing in the matter, but when in doubt, ask your lawyer. At this late date, I wouldn't think there'd be much doubt that your ex wanted the divorce, if that's what you called to ask him. You might be better off having your lawyer contact him to explain the remaining issues that have to be decided and set out a schedule and agreed process for communication about settling these issues. If his girlfriend continues to interfere, maybe a visit with your lawyer would convince her to butt out.

She is a jealous new girlfriend and wants to get back at you and hurt you as much as she can for some reason.

Personally ex's are best left alone and as stated contact done though the attorneys, but she can't tell you not to contract him, only he can do that.

I don't think you have much to worry about. If he were the one asking you not to contact him, that may be a different story. She can always ask you not to contact her but she really can't speak for him. Legally I don't think she'd have a leg to stand on.
