If they had 12 children it may be the sequel to "cheaper by the dozen" called "belles on their toes"... I believe the mother takes over her husband's efficiency expert career after he dies.

Name of the movie is CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN. 12 kids not 7. I think there's been 2 movies made of it, but I just remember the old black and white that I watched on Saturday afternoons.
