A lot of people know the problems I have had,
Here in the last to two weeks I have been in and out of
The hosptial but I don't understand
Last week it was a uti, that's fine I have ,meds I am taking
For that, and that is clearing up what they told me today.
Last night I went for a few hour shopping for my son some things
Before he gets here when I got home I was bleeding like a period,
By the time I got to the hosptial it had stopped but they kept me over
To watch and there was nothing, I know these people thought I was crazy
They did blood work and ultar sound everything looked really good when my
Doctor came in this afternoon he told me he couldn't explain (like it was a nose bleed) what had happen
But if I even spotted to come in or start bleeding again. But I want answers and
They aren't giving me any, I'm very concern. I have had a rough pregnancy this time
And I worry about if something wrong because my son has slowed down and when they checked me I was a tight two cm, but thick when they finish checking me(what does -3 mean after they check you) there was a thick white musuc like on her glove? What was that? Sorry if some of this is too much?
I've Google things and it scares me, that's why I am here
Asking for someone to explain. By the way, I haven't been having
Any kind of sex. Or anything. I've done my bed rest, I'v done just about everything
They have told me to do.
Thanks for the help and taking the time to read this.
You are fine hun. Bleeding sometimes happens for unknown reasons. I'm glad they kept you overnight. I've had patients like this before who have delivered very healthy babies.
You had an ultrasound, it didn't show any bleeding or you would not have been sent home. So, please don't worry, the bleeding may have just happened because you went shopping and were walking around. This happens sometimes. Your cervix, as I have said before, is very vascular, particularly while pregnant, and can bleed easily for no known cause in some women.
Now for your questions. You are a tight 2cm. Which means that you are about 1 1/2 centimeters dilated, which is normal at this stage of pregnancy and does NOT mean that you are in labor. Active labor actually begins at 4cm dilation. Thick... this means that your cervix is not effacing. Your cervix is long and thick, like the bottom of a light bulb. It has to shorten and get really thin, almost like a piece of thick paper (100% effaced). Effacement and dilation happen together. -3 means how far the baby is up in the vaginal canal. This is called Station. -3 is the highest the baby can be. It is still above the cervix. As the baby moves through the birth canal the numbers get smaller... -3, then -2, then -1, then 0 etc. Once the baby reaches 0 station we begin pushing, typically.
Hun, I assure you that you are fine. If you were my patient, and I have had a few EXaCTLY like you, I would have done the same thing your hospital did. Watch you overnight, do an ultrasound, and make sure the bleeding had stopped.
Sounds like you had a scare, and that's all it was to you... a scare. To us this actually happens quite frequently and we, as nurses, go on to help you delivery healthy babies when the time is right.

Thank you! Yeah, it scared me.
I guess I'm just a worrying person.
Sorry if I bother you with some
Of my question.
You don't bother me at all. Part of my job, at work and here, is teaching. This all should have been explained to you before you left the hospital. I never let my patients leave the hospital without an explanation of what happened and what to expect in the future.

Yeah,
They should have. I came home
And got on here,
By the way when she checked me
What was all the white musuc that came out of me on the glove?
That's what kind of freaked me out
It's just cervical mucous. Very common in late pregnancy.

I have another question.
I have a thick clear yellow jelly like descharge all day. What is it?
That may be an infection. Time to visit your doctor again.

I go to tomorrow
I'm taking meds for that already
If it is an infection, you may need a different med. Not all meds work on all infections.

I got another question.
Could my hips be spreading
Causing it hurt when I get up and down
And holding my little girl, it bring tears to my
Eyes, it wakes me up at night, like now that why I'm awake
I got another question.
could my hips be spreading
causing it hurt when i get up and down
and holding my little girl, it bring tears to my

It's possible, but it's more possible that the baby is laying on a nerve.

What do they do when they induce you?
I'm getting induce on Nov.9th,2009
I can't wait four weeks to go.
Ah, I just induced a lady this morning.
You will go to the hospital, get admitted, asked a TON of questions. Then you will get a physical exam, including a pelvic to see how far dilated you are. Then you will be on the fetal monitor for at least a half hour. They will put an IV in you and start fluids. You will then get hooked up to some Pitocin. The amount of pitocin you get per hour will increase rapidly at first, then slowly increase to the maximum level... if you even reach the maximum level. Most women aren't in labor long enough to go that high on the pitocin.
Then voilą... you will have a baby.

Ahhh, yay! Me. I can't wait.
But my doctor did say since I have
Having contraction most likely he don't think I will go that far but we set it anyway, they are taking me off everything next week except the blood pressure meds.

I've started bleeding and it stop

Everything was fine, no uti or anything
This is like a period when it happened.
The baby moving fine. He just like always

You were bleeding because they checked you. The cervix has millions of tiny capillaries and is prone to bleeding when manipulated this far along in pregnancy. As long as it stopped, and there was no abdominal pain involved, you are fine.

No I don't think so,
It was a lot of blood again
A bright red, then it stops
Like nothing ever happen
Then this morning I'm having
A lot of discharge,
Can't wait to have this baby.

I have been having werid feelings
Down there, with sharp back pains,
They come and go as long as I am walking
But as soon as I relax I start having contractions, then I can start walking
And it slows down, I don't know,
I'm so confused,

Ah, you caught me just as I was about to hop into bed. Got to work tonight. LOL
How far apart are they?
brittanymommy08
Oct 13, 2009, 08:02 AM
About ten mintues

When the contractions are 5-8 minutes apart it's time to go to the hospital.

Your panties will stay wet and you will have to wear a pad. Make sure you take the pad with you to the hospital.

I went to the hosptial
They check me three different
Times, and I wasn't. The bleeding came back at the hosptial but they still couldn't explain it but told me not to worry, they took me off the procardi(might have messed the spelling up) they told me if he starts to come they won't stop it anymore they told me I was 35 1/2 weeks, my son has turn down,

Have you ever been told you have placenta previa?
brittanymommy08
Oct 15, 2009, 06:02 AM
No, what is that?
I have a doctor's appt today,
J_9
Oct 15, 2009, 06:04 AM
You would have been told already if you have it. It's where the placenta partially, or completely covers the cervix and can be a cause for bleeding like you explain.

Ooh okay,
Thanks for explain but they haven't said that yet. With this pregnancy anything could happen,
Might sound bad but I'm ready for it to be over and I can hold him and raise him, I know my daughter might feel like I have forgotten her cause every time I come home from the hosptial it's all about mommy, I'm trying to give her my most attention right now,

ooh okay,
thanks for explain but they haven't said that yet.
If they haven't said that yet, then you don't have it. This is usually something found in early pregnancy and can resolve (cure) itself as the pregnancy goes on. If you had it, you would know.

Ooh okay,
Feels better something less to worry about,
I don't know if I have told
But thanks for all the advice you have given me,
:)

Oct 15, 2009, 06:19 AM
Yes, less to worry about. I'm glad I didn't make you worry more.
You have told me thank you... and you are very welcome. You are going to make a wonderful mommy to that new baby, and the big sister of course!
Just remember that sometimes bleeding can not be explained and everything goes well.

I have learned no to stress about
The bleeding since it not a pad full. How
Long is after he turns into position
Is it before labor starts? Or does it depend,
I'm having B/h contraction but those
Aren't in a pattern,

The head down position is usually a few weeks prior to birth.
