I have a coleman evcon that I can't get the pilot light to light in the thermostat the red and white wire were shorting int the thermostat would this have anything to do with it not smelling gas either

How new is your furncace, can you post a pic of the furnace with covers off? Shorting of red and white would cause the furnace to just stay on, unless the red and white shorted to something else, then it may have blown a fuse on the secondary side. Please post some pics of furnace, or give us complete model number so we can help you out with this. Lee.
