I know Movate contains steroids and is suppose to be terrible and this and that. But does it work? More specically for hyperpigmentation or even short term lightening? I have no intention of using movate for any extended period.

The tube doesn't say lightening anywhere on it so what does it actually do? Is is a steroid that just HAPPENS to lighten you? Why do people use this?

I wasn't aware of all the different types of Movate and just grabbed this one and took out the directions from the box and it wasn't at all what I expected... but I can't get my money back obviously so now I'm just wondering what the heck its good for...

ETA: Apparently people use it to fade brown spots? I have a lot of hyperpigmentation and I am so desperate to see it gone! I don't care if it lightens or not. Ugh, I know this crap is so bad for you though! It will be a blessing in digusise if it doesn't work, so then I won't use it anymore...

Be careful I heard on the internet somewhere that some Movate products contain high levels of Mercury! I also found out that the Crusader Medicated Soap that I once used a couple of years back also is said to contain Mercury. The weird part is that I never experienced any bad side effects from that soap and I used it a lot and would let it sit on my skin for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off!! But you know you can't always trust the internet ,but at the same time you don't want to die from Mercury poison. So we all must be careful!! That's okay... because one of these days when I have some extra money... I am going to have as many of these products that are being sold sent to a lab to be tested... so that I can really know what's in some of these creams!! LOL

For some people steroids actually causes darkening so be careful. It's prescription-only for that reason. A hormone.

I had a dark patch on both of my inner thighs and after using the cream for 1 week I began to feel irritation and get red tiny little bumps. After reading some of the side effects on the internet I realized that it was the movate cream that was causing this. To top it off it created a stretch mark looking scar which itched and was tender to the touch at the same time. I would not recommend a movate cream to any one!! BUYER BEWARE!
