I have been paying child support for some years now. My daughter is 15 and in the last 2 years, my pay has been garnished by the child support agency for additional amounts including my current support that is deducted weekly. I owe arrears, but, the current support I pay is for support and towards the arrears. The reason I have arrears in the first place is because the mom didn't know if it was my child or her ex husbands. I haven't had a paternity test to this day to have it proven. He was ruled not the father from a blod test and I was in Korea when this all happened. Anyway, I called the child support agency and the garnishment company and was told by the child support agency that there was a glitch in the system. I find it hard to believe that the same glitch could happen 2 years in a row. I have lost this year alone about half my check or more for the past 6 weeks. I asked about a refund and was told that due to my arrears, there would be no refund even though it was their fault! I was told week one this happened that they would send the termination letter to the garnishment company and it never happened. I have been making calls for 7 weeks trying to get this straight with no help and no one doing what they said they would. How can I get this fixed? What do I do? I have made so many calls without any success its frustrating! Also, I find it very convenient that my daughters mom used to work at that same child support office and has friends still working there. I know her character and this would not surprise me one bit. Is there anything I can do to get my money back? I have to live to.I have bills to pay as well. Is it not enough that I pay my support and have my income tax and stimulus check taken too?
