I kind of like this guy who I have been talking to for quite some time now.. we have decided to meet up on the weekend and I'm happy about that! He seems really nice..

The only problem is he is a friend of an ex of mine... not a very close friend but still a friend as my ex introduced me to him when we were together. I kind of have this rule not to date any of my ex's friends.

My question is should it really matter? My ex and I broke up about a year ago and he is seeing someone else..

He is free ,you are free and the last I knew there was no law that said friends can't date ex's friends.
Go for it.He has moved on and so should you.
If anyone should have a problem ,it should be his friend and since he does not ,go have a good time!

I have only three words for you - GO FOR IT.

And, have a great time. Sometimes we have to be flexible with our 'rules'.

It doesn't affect you, because you can date whoever you want, so you can go for it.

However, some guys might not be comfortable dating their friend's ex, so you will just have to find that part out.

If its okay with the both of you, that's all that matters.

Thanks! I was just worried about what my ex might think but I suppose I shouldn't worry about that anymore.. just concentrate on being happy! Think I will go for it :)

I have that same "rule"... I know what you mean. But you said they aren't really close friends. So it shouldn't be so awkward. Talk with him and make sure he's OK with it also. He's nice too... Sounds great!

The only two it should matter to are you and him, anyone else is simply added baggage
