I recently bought this camera and have to say still learning how to use it.
I had a horrible experience this past weekend because I shot tons (~400) pictures of my kid birthday party. During the party I was able to review pictures I had taken every single time but when I tried to transfer photos to my computer the card was basically empty. Not a single shot was recorded!! Now I can't see photos in the camera either, I am very afraid I lost them forever. :(

Is it possible that they didn't get recorded because the "shoot with out a card mode" was enabled? But if this is the case is it possible to review pictures that were not recorded later even after turning camera on/off several times? Any suggestions on how I can try to recover the pictures?

HELP please!
Thanks in advance.

Apparently you didn't read your instruction book carefully enough. I hate to tell you this but I think that all your pictures are gone.

Also, you need to do some experimenting prior to tackling an important event such as your kid's birthday. I'm sorry that you lost all the photos. It saddens me to hear about this.

It may take you a few practice tries to get it right. Try not to take that many photos at a time either. That's definitely a disaster in the making.

It's possible the photos are still on the card but you messed up something when you tried to transfer them to your computer. Before you shoot any more photos, try a photo rescue program and see if it locates photo files on the card.

I also suggest you disable the function to shoot without a card. This is a useless function for most camera owners!

I know this post is old, but for future reference try using "Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery"! I accidentally deleted my grandson 500+ football pictures while trying to transfer them to my photo server. We were able to recover them all. Even though you might delete your pictures off the card, it leaves a compressed hidden file, as long as you don't format the chip, you can most likely recover your digital pictures.

"Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery V3.5 is a comprehensive solution to recover pictures from all internal & external storage devices (such as digital cameras, memory sticks, IBM Micro Drives, SD Cards, MMC Cards, XD Cards, Secure Digital Cards, Zip Disks, Mini Disks and Windows based hard drives) after loss due to all possible causes of data damage like file system corruption, unintentional or intentional drive formatting, unexpected switching off the camera, accidental deletion, corruption or damage to the media, read/write error messages. http://www.stellarinfo.com/digital-media-recovery.htm
