Hello, My son in law is having problems with his 92 Honda Accord not starting some times. Several days in the shop and no luck with diagnosits. Example car has sat in parking lot for 8 hours. It spins over just fine but will not hit a lick. He calls for help 20 minutes later it cranks first try. Next time might be 3 weeks later. In the shop they can't get it to repeat the problem. Problem might arrise again the next day or even a month later. Its been over a year now and its laid down 7 times .What can I do to helpwith this problem? PS Its usually a very hot day when this happens but I can't say it always is. Thanks, Skip

If the Check Engine Light always comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II):

. Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil:

. Replace the main relay, which is located under the dash, left of steering column (hidden by silver cruise control box, which needs to be removed). Turning the ignition key on and off will help you locate the main relay, by allowing you to hear and feel it "click." Main relays often have 7 wires going to them.

By replacing these 3 components, "like new" reliability should be restored, which your daughter should also appreciate. All of these items should be replaced every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.
