Hi,
I had an Carrier Model 58STA/STX system installed to cool/heat a 400sqft. Room in my shop. My thermostat is a digital CTC Model 43054.
Specific problem is the unit never shuts off automatically - the termostat reading starts rising when I turn thermostat switch on to cool. The room cools down no problem. When I turn thermostat switch off - the reading starts dropping. What is the problem?? I hooked the thermostat up in the following order: (Left to right) Blank/G/Blank/Y/R/Blank. The last two terminals are jumpered.

Appreciate any help.

You have a bad thermostat. Time to get it replaced.

Was hoping I hooked it up wrong or something. The thermostat is brand new. Thx for the reply.

If the temp reading on the t-stat rises as it gets cooler in the room. The t-stat is bad.(Bad resistor in the stat)
