1. Apply a homemade egg and olive oil conditioner once a week for a month to help repair hair. To make one application, whisk one egg yolk with two table spoon of olive oil in a bowl. Apply to hair, especially on the ends. Leave on for a few minutes and rinse before shampooing.

2. Use vitamin E treatment on your hair, either store bought or homemade. To make a homemade treatment break open 5 or 6 vitamin E capsules and combine with your favorite shampoo. Vitamin E makes hair look healthy, shiny and smooth.

3. Get regular hair trims once a month. These trims get rid of damaged hair and encourage faster hair growth.

4. Shampoo and condition your hair less frequently. Ideally, two or three times a week helps curb over-drying and repairs damaged hair.

5. Rinse and shampoo hair as soon as possible after swimming in chlorine or salt water. Both of these make hair more brittle.

6. Anemia is one of the most frequent causes of hair loss. Eat plenty of iron-rich foods, like liver (Avoid if you are pregnant) and other organ meat, whole grain cereals, dark green leafy vegetables, eggs, dates, and raisins.

7. The hair is comprised mostly of protein. To encourage hair growth, adhere to a diet rich in protein. A recommended diet for this purpose includes calves liver, brewer's yeast, wheat germ, and two tablespoons of granulated lecithin. Along with protein, these foods are also high in B vitamins, an important nutrient for hair. Other good sources of protein are: low-fat cheese, eggs, fish, beans, brewer's yeast and yogurt.
Caution: Excessive intake of Vitamin A can cause hair loss.

8. Another important nutrient for hair health is silica. Studies in the former Soviet Union have shown that silica therapy slowed hair loss. Organic silica added to shampoo was found to help prevent baldness, stimulate healthier hair growth and assure beautiful shine, luster and strength. Some scientists claim that they have effectively stopped further hair loss by adding silica to their shampoo. This can be applied externally to regrow already lost hair. Silica is found in the outer coverings of potatoes, green and red peppers and cucumbers. Bean sprouts are also high in silica. Eat whole foods including sprouts.

9. Vitamin C improves the absorption of iron. Include a good serving of fruits and vegetables in your diet.

10. Vitamin E is important for healthy hair growth. Eat avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil on a regular basis.

11. Eat 4 to 5 Curry leaves daily. These leaves have the property to nourish the hair roots. New hair roots that grow are healthier with normal pigment. Liberal intake of curry leaves is considered beneficial in preventing premature greying of hair.

12. Cilantro (Coriander leaves): Eating these leaves will norish your hair.

13. Drink at least one to two liters of water a day.

14. Be patient. It takes the average person months to grow enough new hair to replace damaged hair.

You can't actually repair damaged hair. Hair isn't alive and doesn't heal with time. It has no blood supply and the chemical reactions that would be required to repair hair simply don't happen. You can let it grow out.

Color Zap is hair bleach. No, really! It will damage your hair and make it break worse.
