I want to do a hypothesis test on two sports teams comparing the defenses of 2 NFL teams. I did the test already but I'm not sure what hypothesis I should use?

This might help you.

Forming a hypothesis requires talent, skill, and creativity. Scientists base their proposed explanations on existing information. They strive to form hypotheses that help explain, order, or unify related facts. They then use experimentation and other means to test their hypotheses.

Well, we can say that an hypothesis is an assumption. You had two hypotheses, meaning that you didn't know which one worked. Now that you have tested them, which one (of the two defence strategy) do you consider the better? That will be your choice of the hypothesis.

Since this was homework, the problem should essentially be telling you what your hypothesis is. That is, it's telling you the numbers and what you're testing for. And if you already did the test, you know what you tested for. (Theoretically, the hypothesis would be done prior to the test.)

So I'm taking this to mean you don't know how to write out the hypothesis properly? It would help to know what's in your problem.
