My husband and I just found out that 8 1/2 weeks into our pregnancy we only have a gestational sac and a yolk (gestationally 5 weeks 1 day), which is all that we had two weeks ago as well. Two weeks ago doctors thought we might be off on our time of conception (I was breastfeeding and hadn't had a period since my daughter was born.) but now it looks like we are at the same point as we were gestationally two weeks ago and awaiting a miscarriage. My dr will be doing another official ultrasound next week and going over options with me in regards to speeding up the miscarriage. (she also said she was not considering D&C due to I won't have much tissue) Does anybody have any good advice on what methods if any might be used and any first hand thoughts on them or whether or not we should even use them? Would it be better and/or safer to use help or to let things happen naturally. I am really nervous. We may miscarry naturally prior to then. What can I expect with an assisted miscarriage vs a natural miscarriage. Any information would be appreciated. Personally a small part of me is still holding out hope that due to my tilted uterus there is another sac in there somewhere that hasen't been found although I realize this is unrealistic. This is very emotional and I would like to have as little trauma as possible.

I am so sorry you are going through this. It's very hard I know.

Now, I am not going to advise you on any methods for you to use to speed up this process, this could be dangerous to your health.

If your body does not expel the contents of conception within 2 weeks, a D&C should be done at that time.

Glad I waited for induction of miscarriage. 1 week later we have a heartbeat and what appears to be a healthy 6 week old embryo. Our dr is stumped as are we. The embryo either stopped developing for a matter of weeks and started again, or we got pregnant after a positive pregnancy test. (We should at the very least be 10 weeks into pregnant due to last intercourse prior to positive test) Not out of the woods by any means. I have been having an orange discharge (looks like spotting mixed with old blood) for about a week, going through a little less than a pad every four hours and heartbeat was only 108. Still our Dr is hopeful as are we. Anybody ever hear of a case like this please let me know. I will be putting up a separate post regarding this spacific situation.
