Hi,

Building a basement bath. Sink,toilet, washer,dryer only.

Everything is in place except the toilet. The room has walls and a door.

Would like to vent the room by adding a vent fan and utilize the existing

Dryer 4" vent pipe so that I do not have to drill another 4" hole.

The dryer and additional vent fan will utilize the same 4" vent pipe via a wye.

The additional vent is only for the toilet - Stink vent.

NO shower will be added.

Will this combo work OK?

Thanks

Wouldn't the bathroon vent blow limt back into the dryer when you ran it? Just asking! Tom

Hi,

Good thought.. Certainly not sure. Would use a
"Wye" for the connection.

I also have an unheated crawl space that I could vent into. Perhaps this is better?

I think venting to the crawl space would work better. No matter what you used to connect the vent to the dryer exhaust it will put air pressure in the dryer line that would blow both ways thus blowing and lint in the line back into the dryer. Good luck, Tom

Hi,

I think I've talked myself into the crawl space vent.

Thanks

Good call. You can not use the same vent for dryer and exhaust fan period. Running vent into crawl space is even questionable. If you can get the vent into crawl space, just run it out right above the sill plate with vent termination and your all set. Lee.

Hi,

I'm going to utilize the crawl space and hopefully vent through the sill.

I'll only be using the vent for "Stink" no
Shower in the room.

Thanks
