I was on anti-abuse tablets for two weeks to slack down on weekend drinking. I only use to drink half a tablet a morning. I have been off the tablets for 6 days now and would like to know if the anti-abuse is still in my system?:o

Are you saying that you are an alcoholic and aren't ready to quit?

If you think you're an alcoholic, and you are taking antibuse, then you should stop drinking altogether.

Please give this program a try: Alcoholics Anonymous : (http://www.aa.org/?Media=PlayFlash)

If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired.

It worked for me.

Do you want to know if the drug is out of your system so you can tie one one?

Well, act like it is, and go get your life back under control.

Stop the insanity.

May GOD give you strength, and courage.

No I am not an alcoholic at all, I only have a drink on weekends sometimes. I had a black out recently because I had too much to drink so I went on anti-booze to slack down the weekend drinking. I don't crave a drink or anything like that. I just think I don't really need to be on the tablets since I don't drink everyday, but now I'm too scared to even have a glass of wine because I don't know how long it takes for the anti-abuse to be out your system.
Can you help?

Antibuse is not prescribed for social drinking, only alcoholic drinking due to its serious and nasty side effects.

I'm sorry, either your doctor isn't very cautious (or smart), or you're not telling us the whole story.

So what gives?

All I wanted to know is how long it takes to wear off not have my question answered with a question!

Your question was answered with doubt as to why you are taking it in the first place.

If you want a BETTER answer, go ask the DOCTOR who prescribed you this medicine.

You did get it from a doctor right? (OOPS, another question)

Surely you didn't just get it from a friend. Because that's dangerous, and illegal.

This site is free, you don't pay us. So no need to get snippy.

What the expert, and I, think is that if you're NOT an alcoholic, you shouldn't need chemical assistance to help you to NOT drink alcohol.

I gave you the best link as to help you stop drinking.

Your welcome.
