My dishwasher is not draining and now I have a leak in my garbage disposal. Will a bad disposal affect the dishwasher not draining?

All your disposal does is direct the discharge from the washer into the trap.
Where's it leaking from? The disposal itself or one of the joints?
Does the pump run in the DW or is it dead> let me know, Tom

The water is coming out of the bottom of the disposal. No leaks from the top.

The DW pump does run but no water is being removed.

The water is coming out of the bottom of the disposal. Is this from the body of the unit or from a pipe joint?
Tell me what type of air gap you have on your washer. Counter top air gap or high loop? Let me know, Tom
