factor (x^5-1) using division by a 1st degree polynomial. I was trying to help my grandson with his alg II homework and was stuck on this one.

If you divide x^{5}-1 by x-1, you get
x^{4}+x^{3}+x^{2}+x+1 then we get:
x^{5}-1=(x-1)(x^{4}+x^{3}+x^{2}+x+1) and it is factored.
