Has anyone heard of any Tax laws for employers filing H1B. Apparently companies filing H1B for their employees have to pay huge amount as taxes to the government. Has anyone heard of any such taxes. I want to know what is the amount that the companies have to pay the government and is there an alternative way.

There are basically federal THREE taxes that the employer must pay for W-2 employees. These are:

Social Security = 6.2% of the employee's salary.

Medicare = 1.45% of the employee's salary.

federal Unemployment Tax = .5% of the employee's salary.

There ARE other taxes (workmen's compensation, disability), but they are administered at the state level.
