Which would be a better career path:

Respiratory Therapy or Social Services?

I'm considering switching into the Social Services field. I am currently taking courses for RT, but I don't know if I will like it yet. I loved the classes up until clinicals... I haven't really gotten to do much yet, hopefully that will change, if it doesn't... I'm going to switch my course of study in the spring!

As far as pay goes, which is better?

Also, I'm hoping to finish RT and land a career helping children.. so far the only thing I have seen are breathing treatments... I haven't seen anything like we've studied in the book-work! Someone help!

As far as pay goes RT is better in any setting. Social workers get paid much less and have much less respect.

With the increase in asthma, the different flu strains, pneumonia... I could go on... RT is a thriving field right now.

Social workers have one of the more stressfull occupations.
