I am a very novice & retired computer user. Recently I have been getting email that I have been sending to friends for years bounced back to me with error messages. They are able to send to me, but I cannot send or forward messages to them. Any suggestions?

It all depends what the error messages say. They may say that their inbox is full.

If you really want to know look at the headers. Usually a special option. Headers can be forged from spam emails.

The error messages say something like "email address you have sent to has permanent fatal errors followed by numbers something like 550.1.0". I know the emails are good addresses. Some are directed to people with Hotmail, some with juno, some with cox.net, some with aol.com and I have been communicating at least twice a week with them for 4 or 5 years. I just finished a complete system scan by Norton Security and has only one minor fix (a tracking cookie) - whatever that is. I told you I was a novice. Does any of the above information help?

Do you by chance have Verizon as an ISP and sending it from Outlook or other email program?

What happens when you send an email to yourself?

I do not have Verizon, but I do have a Time Warner Roadrunner account and sub-account on this computer. The error messages occur when I am trying to send or forward messages from my sdcoe.net account to others. I have also had a message from my sdcoe.net account bounced when I tried to send it to myself to the Roadrunner account.

It seems like sdcoe.net has had a recent upgrade. SDCOE: Technology Division - Network Services (http://www.sdcoe.net/technology/network/welcome.asp?loc=pop)

There is a contact number there.

The web based mail has an option called View headers. That's the info that will likely be needed. SquirrelMail - Webmail for Nuts! (http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=186)
