My daughter has a Hampton Bay ceiling fan, with lights, that is controlled by a hand held remote.
Last Saturday, when she turned the "lights" off, one light kept up a slight "pulse" of light. It While it did not fully illuminate the bulb, the bulb did light at its base. (and it was a clear pulse as opposed to just a constant dim light.) These are the eco swirled fluorescent lights. The lights turn on fully, and the fan works fine (and the pulsing seems to be unrelated to whether the fan is running or not).
Some other quirks...
1. If you remove or loosen the bulb that is pulsing, the one next to it starts to pulse. If you loosen that one, then another pulses - until you loosen all of them.
2. I checked the wire connections - even untwisted and re-twisted to make sure there were good connections.
3. And this started after I installed a wireless receiver in a chandalier light in her dining room (PulseSwitch). It is on another circuit (and a receiver) so I don't see how it could be affecting the light or the HB remote. (The Pulseswitch switches are batteryless so I doubt they are sending any signal out until and unless clicked - and I did test clicking them and that had no affect one way or the other. I do have a query out to them about this but I am expecting them to say its not their receiver/transmitter).)
So, it seems like it is the fan, or the remote, but I can't help but think that the wireless connection had something to do with it (seems awfully suspicious given the timing). Is there some sort of build up in a capacitor or something that could be causing the pulsing?
Any ideas on where to start or how to isolate?
