Hi everyone, My periods have been screwed up since giving birth 2 years ago but recently seemed to be settling into a patter. Over the last 3 months, I have had a 33-36 break between periods but on each occasion, I have ovulated but SIX (not 14) days later have had my period, Now according to this pattern, I ovulated 13 days ago, which means I am about 6 days late for my 'normal' period so far. Over the last three days, I have had light spotting. On day 1, it literally was spotting when I wiped - about the size of one of these letters I am typing. This only happened once - in the morning. On Day 2 (yesterday), I had the same thing but the spotting was about the size of one of these words. On Day 3 (today) there was a bit more blood - brown in colour. On all occasions, it happened in the morning after I had exercised - and only showed when I wiped with toilet paper. No other blood throughout the day at all. I am hoping I am pregnant - there is a good chance I could be. I was just wondering if this could be implantation bleeding? Coincidentally, I have done a test per day for the last 7 days - and all have been negative. I would be extremely grateful for any advice/thoughts at all.
Thanks in advance,
Julana

May I ask how you know exactly when you are ovulating?

Hi there, I know I am ovulating through the use of ovulation sticks and also by the discharge (egg white consistency).

Hi J_9, I was just wondering if you had any further thoughts. Sorry to pinpoint you but I have seen some of your other posts and you always seem to offer good advice or thorough knowledge.

Julana, I have been at work or tending to my kiddos. You see, we are not paid to do this, we volunteer our spare time here. I just got home from work and am about to take the kids to school. I'll try to respond when I get back.

Just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you. LOL

Okay, now that I am back, I'll try to answer you before I go to bed for the day.

You see, implantation bleeding is quite rare. Imagine something microscopic landing on your arm... will you bleed? Certainly not. Typically, what women consider implantation bleeding is their bodies trying to decide if they are pregnant or if they are supposed to have a period. (this is the "simple" explanation).

Sometimes we have spotting instead of a period. Why? It isn't exactly known. Sometimes we miss a period completely for no reason whatsoever.

If you do not get your period in another week, try testing again using first morning urine. If that still comes back negative it might just be time for a good old fashioned blood test.
