:mad:I have a Maytag Dependable Care electric dryer. It started squeaking a bit a few weeks ago, so I pulled it out, vaccuumed it, lifted the top, and took off the front. Put it back together, and it ran.

I put a load of clothes into it yesterday, came back 3 hours later, and it was still running. Now there is no heat, and no light on when the door is open.

I thought maybe when I opened the top, I overextended it, possibly pulling on the wires. I check it, and all are intact.

Now I notice that if the dryer is running, I open the door, the light comes on, then there is a click sound (which is normal - has always been there from day 1), but the light goes out immediately.

Fuse? Circuit breaker? Something else? Help! This dryer has never had a problem and I love it. Thanks!

We are having the same issue, except it happened all of a sudden -- we had not done anything differently or attempted any repairs. Our dryer is approx. 2 years old and has never malfunctioned before.

Anyone else having issues or have advice?
