I recently found out I'm pregnant. I live in my fiance's house and he has a cat. I was raised with the belief that cat hair is bad for newborn babies.I just want to know if its true. Any input will be awesome! Don't hesitate to reply> thank you!!

Sounds like you re building a case for no cat.

Any kind of hair laying around isn't good in the way of germs for baby, especially in baby's bed, but there are ways of eliminating this problem without ridding of the cat. Many people have pets of all kinds and babies too.

I have a cat and 2 sons under two. The biggest thing is that when you are pregnant you really should not scoop the box. ( I loved that rule of pregnancy) I have no problem with my 2 month old in the cat, I just keep the nursery door closed all the time because I know my cat would go in the crib.

I've had a cat since my little one was born, she is now almost 3.

I keep house and bathe the cat regularly in order to keep clean.

So far, I've had no cases of asthma, epilepsy or weird skin rashes.

I do close the door to her room at night and during nap times.

Vacuum regularly, bathe your cat, clean the litter regularly too.

With those three things I don't see a problem.. unless of course your child is allergic to cats then mr.meow has got to go!
