OK, I'm 20yrs. Old, I have a 20 month old little girl. Her father and I recently split up after six years he hasn't seen his daughter in two months and refuses to pay child support. She has been legitamized through the hospital but not the court system.. Ive been told that since not by the court system he can't come and take her when he chooses we are not married, but his name is on the birth certificate.. im not sure how to go about this situation or what to do. I live in Georgia. Im not sure with the laws here but the police keep giving me the run around about it all.

You need to go to family court and file for child support. You can leave it up to him to file for joint custody/visitation.
Why are the police concerned about it?
What are they giving you a run around about?
