I am installing a ceiling fan to replace a light fixture. I have 3 sets of housewires. 2 with black & white andbare ground and a 3rd with black, red and white and bare ground. I am not sure about what to do with the red wire. Please help.

How were the wires hooked up for the light? How many wires does the fan have?
