My apartment has the Admiral Capacity Plus washing machine, model# LNC6762B71rev17.
It will not spin. There was also a burning smell when the dial was on spin cycle as well as a humming noise. I tipped the machine back and the belt was intact. I pull the belt towards the front of the machine and it would not budge. I then pushed the belt towards the rear of the machine and it moved freely although the tub did not turn. I tried to pull the belt back towards the front of the machine and it traveled only as far as I was able to push the belt towards the rear. Can anyone help? Is it the motor, transmission or something else?
Is it worth repairing?
Can a novice make the repair or do I need to call a tech?
Lastly, my landlord laid the blame on me for the broken washer and will not repair it. Is this problem typical or common? I would like to make an argument to him.
Thanks.
