My 16 month old male american staff dog went from eating anything and everything all day to eating basically nothing. Hes been to the vet they said he's healthy. Ive had a lot of people saying different things like the dogs on heat I know male dogs don't actually go on heat but they do pine for females. Ive also tried maple syrup, tripe, all sorts of meats from the butchers, all dog biscuits and all dry foods, he eats the occasional dog treat like a biscuit bone, he seems to eat one thing new that I try then he won't eat it again. Ive ran out of ideas now. The dogs losing weight and the vet can't find anything wrong with him he's still his happy self jumping around and playing with my 2 year old as normal. Can anyone give me and ideas or some help about this? Thanks.

Sounds like he's having the 12 month hunger strike.
A lot of dogs at around 1 year of age will go through a 'picky' time with their food and not eat.
My boy did this not long ago, he was just getting to the point where he was unhealthily thin when he started eating again.
Unless he is emaciated I would not be panicking just yet, your vet said he was in good health, just give him a month or 2 of being fussy before you take any drastic action.

Hes more active than normal and can't seem to sit still for longer than 10 minutes without going for a walk around the house and is more interested in what's going on outside the backdoor which leads onto a balcony not a garden, he also hates when you close the door. Can anyone give me and ideas or some help about this? Thanks.

What did the vet do to determine he is healthy?
Did he do a fecal sample? Bloodwork? What kind of bloodwork? Did he check Thyroid?

I'd call your vet back. They should have at least done a fecal flotation and offered bloodwork..
