Back in 1996, my brother asked me to buy a house in my name, which he would live in and pay the mortgage, insurance, taxes, etc. He has since never paid a cent. I have since paid the house off, and now wish to sell it. I have it listed with a realtor, who he refuses to let show it. He has a lawyer, and attempts to contact them both are ignored. The last time he signed an agreement to pay was Oct 08. What can I do?

Evict him. We have a copy of your state landlord/tenant law at the top of the real estate page. It's not hard. If you're efficient, you can probably have him out in three weeks. Then you can sell your house.
