Ok so I first want to thank all who answered my previous question regarding probation violation and sentencing... greatly appreciated. My boyfriend has an upcoming hearing for his violation in October. What I want to know is this. What are some things NOT to do at a probation hearing, like what to say, what not to say. His lawyer also recommended I say a few words on his behalf, I am sooo nervous about this, but any and all suggestions will help us out. I know about dress code, hygiene etc But what sort of things should we AVOID saying? Thank u in advance :)

One thing I used to tell the clients of my former boss when they went to Court anytime is to dress like they are going to grandma's funeral. Also, no tattoos showing and no piercings at all. And get a haircut if he needs one.
As for you saying anything, I don't know what he did in the first place to be on probation plus he's evaded the law for 4 years. What does the lawyer suggest you say (or did he suggest anything)? Your boyfriend is the one who needs to convince the Judge he's sorry for running away, not you. Actually his attorney needs to do some persuasive talking to keep your boyfriend from doing the time in jail.
Anything can and will happen at probation violation hearings. Let's hope that the judge gets up on the right side of the bed that day.
