My Maytag refrigerator model MBB2556GES was working fine until moved, we laid it down for only 30 seconds, but could use some help with how to diagnose the problem.

The problem is of course, that you laid it down. When you did that oil in the compressor ran out and into the tubing. Now when you stand it erect there is a low spot (shown in red) in which the oil has settled and cannot run back to the compressor. The drawing below illustrates such a situation and is not intended to depict actual shape of refrigeration tubing.

Sometimes, but not always, after a day or so the oil can drain back enough for the refrigerant to circulate. After that the refrigerant will eventually carry the oil back to the compressor.

Otherwise, it's call a technician to vacuum and recharge.
