I had a party at my home last night. We have three remotes for three ceiling fans. 1. living room remote, 2. den remote, 3. bedroom remote.

1. Our living room ceiling fan remote got a baloon string wrapped in it and started making a noise and shaking. I plan on removing the string no big deal. This fan/light will turn on and off just fine, but the light on the remote is consistently lit, even when you are not using it. He I assume removing the string will stop this, but I don't understand why two other remotes do not work.

2. The den remote will not turn on or off at all. All light switches are turned on and checked the circuit breaker. Everything appears to be correct, but it does not work.

3. The bedroom remote was not working at all just like the den remote. We had recently plugged in a Wii games system for the party. We disconnected that assuming that it was operating on the same frequency and interferred with the signal. The bedroom light started working. It appears that it may have a low battery because we have to push the button really hard and long. The other remotes still have the same problem.

I may sound lazy since I have not tried all of the options yet. I am going to replace the batteries today. I just feel like it will be a waste of time. I can't believe three remotes all lost battery power at the same time.

Is this a common problem, thanks

1. LED on the remote constantly lit = stuck button on the remote.

2. In the den fan, does the LED on the remote light up?

3. When you push the buttons on the bedroom remote NORMALLY does the LED light?

I noticed this was 4 years old but I have same problem each year with 5 Hampton Bay ceiling fans/lights. All stop working at same time for usually a few days then suddenly all work again normally. Strange!
