Hi all, my son who just turned 21 in feb was charged with a small amount of marijuana when he was 17. His very expensive lawyer advised him to plea guilty and said it would be no problem to clear his record after he completed his sentence. My son completed his community service, probation, urine tests, and paid all of his fines in under a year. He has not been in any trouble since then and he will be earning his bachelors degree next month. He wants to join the military or be a school teacher. I spoke to his lawyer recently and he wants 750.00 to clear his record. My problem is that I was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year and have been unable to work . Times have been hard and my son is going to school and working and we are barley getting by. The question I wanted to ask is there any way we can get his record cleared on our own without the use of a lawyer. I was listening to judge mathis on TV the other day and I think he was telling this guy that it was no problem going down to the courthouse to fill out some papers and have it expunged? If anyone could give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and god bless!:)
