I found out why my thermostat is not working. We went through and found out my fan on my furnace is not working. They told me that I proably blown a fuse. I have an american standard furnace - model number twv025b140a1 - serial number is g49394469 - motor hp is 1/4. Can you tell me where the fuse is located to see if it is blown.

I don't know about American Standard but if you furnace is less than about ten year old you will have a circuit board located down in the blower chamber of the furnace or air handler. On this board will possibily be a fuse that will be something like 3 amp maybe 5 amp. It will look like the fuse used in automobiles. If it is bad you will be able to tell very easily once you pull the fuse out. If it is bad buy two of the same amps as your is If you blow one of the new ones as you insert it look for a shorted low voltage wire before you use the second one. It could be where the wires enter the furnace cabinet, it could be where the wires are installed on the board and one wire has an end that is too long and is touching another wire.

Can not find a fuse but did see that there is a red wire that is off but looks like it is curled and should be on a screw. I did notice that most of the screws have two same color wires to it, could this be a problem. Is this maybe why the fan is not coming on.

Is this a very small wire about the size of a needle, if so that is a low voltage wire and could be the problem bit I am not sure.

It is the same size wire as the one that is at your thermostat.
