Hi I was just wondering if I could invest my 401k in the purchase of a second home. This would be an investment in a rental home that I currently own with know mortgage. I would like to take a lump sum from my 401k and sell a percentage of the home to my 401k. Is this possible and if so how would I go about the transfers. Any advice and or help with this question would be greatly appreciated.

Its not possible since the investment vehicles offered by a 401(k) are controlled by the administrators. However, you may be able to rollover part of your 401(k) into an IRA that will then invest in the real estate.
