My contractor installed a singal handle knob in my shower. When I turn it on it goes from cold to hot as it should but, it only gets so hot. When I turn it all the way to the left, it shuts off. He says he thinks it has a anti scall device built into it. I've never heard of that. Have you?

Remove the knob, there should be a mixture control adjustment there.

Hi Buster...

As Harold suggested, remove the handle and you should see some way to adjust the temperature of the valve. All tub/shower valves are required to have them... ;)

If you can provide a name of the valve then perhaps we can tell you more.

Really?? You just had the faucet professionally installed, called the installer about this problem, and they didn't come right out and fix it?! They need to come back and adjust the temp control. It should be easy for them(if they know the products they sell). And it shouldn't cost you a dime. If there are unforseen circumstances that are keeping you from calling back the installer, let us know, post a pic, give make and model of faucet and we will help you out. Good luck. Lee.
