Not sure if they would go as far as third cousin on this.

Actually at least 7 states allow first cousin marriages now.
Age of consent is 16 BUT does have an age gap provision until 18

So, you've been seeing a girl who is not only your third cousin, but also underage? Even if the law doesn't have anything to say about that, society will.
Why in the world do you want to date someone who's not even half your age, let alone marry them?

Whether it's legal or not, it's REALLY frowned upon. And although you think she loves you now, she's a young woman and Young women can be very fickle. SHe may end up deciding that she wants to be with someone her own ager, or closer to it.
Do not count on being with her forever.

Does she need another daddy, because you're old enough to be her father.
Normally that would be okay with me, at the age of 30 and 50, or 40 and 60, but 18 and 38, no.
She's too young to know that she's making a mistake, you're old enough to know better.
If it's true love then it can wait until she's older.

Setting aside all the moral, legal and ethical issues. I'll let the others cover those aspects. I have some other concerns.
You might feel a certain way about her, but how can we be sure that she feels the same way about you? I really hope that she's consenting on her own terms.
She's seems WAY TOO young to be considering something like this with someone so much older.
Furthermore, what's the rush? Why are you pushing to marry her as soon as she turns 18? Why can't you wait a few years to let her stablize her life so that she's sure that you're the one she wants.

While 3rd cousins is legal, if word gets out, people won't care what is legal. While a 20 year age difference is legal, people will still whisper pedophile under their breaths.
As will I.

Well just think when you were 21 and out of high school doing whatever she was just pushed out of her mother 21 and a newborn meant to be together?? Not to mention that if she became pregnant there is a possibility of birth defect because of being related even if it's distant!
