In this movie both german and french or belgian soldiers dine together at a mansion inhabited by a middle aged lady and her daughter. I think this happens during a seize fire or maybe at the end of the war.
At one point the soldiers encourage one younger soldier to go into the house with the older lady, but in the end he decides not to go in. So one of the older soldiers goes in there.
Also I think that some soldiers from each side know each other from their youth and they make it possible to come together at the mansion.

Does anybody know what movie this is?

No, that was not the movie I was thinking about. In the movie I saw they were talking german and french. And as far as I can remember there were no actors in it that I had recognized.
But it seems an interesting movie anyway.
