I recently had my condo replumbed and for the most part they did an all right job, but my question is about the hot water pipes that are for the washing machine. The old pipes were behind a sheet of panelling and strapped to a stud, but the new pipes got installed on the outside of the panel and are not strapped or supported by anything, Is this a safety code violation? Is it safe to have that pipe exposed?
Thanks,

Pipes exposed pose no hazzard.
Not secured, may pose a problem with water hammer especially near a major generator, the washing machine. Noise and fatique are two possible problems.
They should be secured.

All water pipes should be secured with pipe straps. (see image) If they're not they will rattle and put a strain on the joints when they wobble back and forth. This is only good plumbing practice. To not strap the pipes is sloppy work. Regards, Tom
