I been having problems with my Kenmore washer elite model 110.16962502, it is not spinning at the rinse and spin cycles. It agitates but it will not do the spin. If I play a little bit with the drum (spinning it manually) and opening and closing the lids it will then start spinning. Any ideas on the problem and how to fix it? I appreciate all your help!

Have the same washer and the same problem. Ended up being the transmission and the clutch. Would have cost 300.00 to fix. Went out and brought a new washer for 500.00. This Kenmore is really a Whirlpool-checked out the model number-110 means it is a Whirlpool. Purchased mine in 2005. Repairman said he has had three of the same washers that were purchased around the same time with bad transmissions. Said it may have been a bad lot.
