I am trying to remove a flush mount ceiling lamp to install a ceiling fan. I already took out the dome, the lights, and the threading tube that I thought secured the plate but I cannot remove the plate!! Is there something I'm not aware of?? Someone please help me!!

Every fixture is unique. Some mount the same but are designed different.

The ONLY way we can help you with this one is with pics.

How do I attach a picture in this site? When I click on 'insert picture' it only allows me to put in an http:// site... any suggestions?

I'm REALLY desperate!

Like most forums you can only post photos hosted on other sites, such as Photobucket or Imageshack.

OK, don't kill me for saying this, but it is just stuck to the ceiling. Really.

Ok, well thanks so much for standing by. I do appreciate your effort in trying to help me. Any suggestions on how to 'un-stick' from ceiling? (I have 3 exact ceiling lamps in the house that I wanted to replace, so I am anticipating having the same problem with the other 2)

Hey Stanfortyman,

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!! As soon as I went over our chat with my husband he had the confidence to take a hammer to the plate and got it off!! YEAH!!

Again THANKS!! And if you ever need to know anything about hair, let me know, that's more my area, hahaha

Hey, thanks Harold. :p Hair is one of the things I am getting more of as I get older (if you know what I mean).

Cat, as soon as I saw the picture I though that. I have seen it many times.
What's the next thing you do after painting a room?. Put the lights back up. :D :o
