What are you making? Maybe it doesn't need pectin.

My Granny never used it, I don't think it was around. I have a whole cook book for canning from 1940 and none of the recipes use pectin.

In the past, I have forgotten to put the pectin into my blackberry jelly/jam. It didn't seem to have any affect one way or the other! Everything was fine.

Apple has a lot of natural pectin in it
